La Jolla Music Society’s SummerFest

August 2-25, 2017

SummerFest Music Director Cho-Liang Lin has curated a diverse program that guides festival audiences on a musical exploration spanning centuries and continents, performed by a roster of 65 internationally acclaimed musicians performing in 15 concerts and participating in 50+ educational and community events. The festival begins with a free outdoor concert and screening of La La Land at La Jolla Cove on August 2. Fiddles vs. Pianos on August 4 features world-renowned violinists Cho-Liang Lin, David Chan, and Chee-Yun; celebrated pianists Inon Barnatan and Olga Kern; and duo piano sensations Christina and Michelle Naughton. Festival highlights also include a special Sunday Brunch series (August 6 at Nine-Ten, August 13 at Catania Restaurant, August 20 at La Valencia Hotel), which brings performers and concert-goers together for festive libations and brunch prior to the afternoon concerts. SummerFest concludes on August 25 with a spectacular performance conducted by Maestro David Zinman, featuring works by Stravinsky, Haydn, and Beethoven. 858.459.3728, ljms.org
