Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank
and North County Food Bank chapter
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and its North County Food Bank
chapter continue to serve record numbers in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
The Food Bank distributes food to families, children and seniors in need at 200
distribution sites throughout the county and through its Super Pantry Program.
Visit www.SanDiegoFoodBank.org/GetHelp for details.
Last year, the Food Bank distributed a record 63 million pounds of food and is
currently feeding nearly 550,000 people per month due to sustained high demand
following the reopening of the state over the summer. This holiday season, the
Food Bank asks the community to donate $5 Hunger Bags at Albertsons and
Vons supermarkets. The community can also make monetary donations online
and register to volunteer at its Miramar and Vista warehouse locations.

• Despite recent improvements in
the economy, tens of thousands
of families in communities
throughout San Diego County
continue to struggle with food
insecurity and will rely on help
from the Food Bank this holiday
season.
• For many families it will take a
long time to fully recover from
the financial impacts of the
pandemic. Currently, families
served by the Food Bank are
facing a number of challenges
including: unpaid rent and an
end to the eviction moratorium,
high household debt acquired
during the pandemic to make
ends meet, and rising food costs
due to inflation being at a
13-year high.
• This holiday season,
the Food Bank is asking for the
community's support with online
donations and volunteers to
work at its Miramar and Vista
warehouse locations.
