A Bridge For Kids
A Bridge For Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support
for low-income, high achieving teens in San Diego. Its signature program, Child
Sponsorship, has been developed to build a bridge between teens in need and
members of the community, with the goal of providing financial support to fund
their academic, athletic, and artistic endeavors.
As low-income families are faced with the challenges and burdens of daily living,
they oen need to make the choice between necessities and the cost of academics
and extracurricular activities for their children. Sponsorship provides ABFK teens with
the ability to grow their talents and abilities throughout their high school journey.
In addition, ABFK provides the ability to participate in numerous ancillary programs
that would be financially prohibitive for the families the organization supports.

Ancillary Programs:
• College Campus Tours:
Each year, ABFK provides two
weeklong trips in California
and an Ivy League trip to the
East Coast.
• SAT/ACT Preparatory Program:
ABFK provides its teens an
online college entrance exam
preparatory course to help "level
the playing field" with their more
affluent peers.
• Tutoring Program: ABFK offers
tutoring for both academic and
standardized tests.
• College Application Support:
Our volunteers provide support
to help navigate the college
application process, including
essay reviews, résumé creation,
and more.
• Assistance with Technology:
ABFK provides all newly
sponsored teens with a laptop.
