ranchandcoast.com @ranchandcoast comments and suggestions. We welcome your input so that we may best continue to serve our community. Speaking of excellence, we were thrilled to be able to host our Best of Ranch & Coast Party in early November. At The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, we celebrated this year's industry leaders as chosen by you as well as our team of editors. There was a noticeable energy on the Inn's lawn that evening; we were all so grateful to gather together once again and see everyone's smiling faces. Focusing on all the good that makes up this wonderful community is an honor. Thank you for allowing us to continue telling your stories. We wish you all a safe and joyful holiday season. A Message to Our Community A s 2021 comes to a close, it's the perfect time to express our sincere gratitude. These past couple years have been a wild ride! Last year, we watched as several of our publishing peers paused or closed, but our team pressed on, day in and day out, to keep our community connected and to support our clients and charity partners. Though this year has inched the world and daily life toward a return to normalcy, we remain deeply grateful for all who have supported us through these challenging months, including our committed Ranch & Coast staff and our loyal advertisers. Without them, we would not be here today. A highlight of the year has been watching San Diego's nonprofits persevere and overcome obstacles to meet the increasing needs of those at risk. We continue to make every effort to help promote fundraising galas and campaigns, and to showcase the life-changing — and often lifesaving — work of those on the frontlines. So, it is a great pleasure to present our annual Charitable Giving Guide, highlighting nearly four dozen worthy causes that would be grateful to have your financial support or time spent volunteering. Whether your giving heart leans toward helping our veterans, foster youth, animals in need, the homeless, the environment, or those with disabilities, we all have something to contribute. In late October, San Diego's best reporters, writers, artists, photographers, videographers, corporate communicators, and public relations professionals were honored at the San Diego Press Club's 48th annual Excellence in Journalism Awards. This year's awards drew more than 1,000 entries, making it one of the largest journalism competitions in the nation. Judges included members of 15 professional journalism organizations from around the country, including press clubs in San Francisco, New Orleans, Rochester, Florida, Cleveland, Orange County, Milwaukee, and Alaska. Our Ranch & Coast team received 22 awards for our work in print and online, as well as for our website, photography, weekly e-newsletter, and video content. We will always strive for excellence.
