Attend benefits Cherishing the Joys of Childhood MAY 21 | THE CONRAD The San Diego Center for Children's 135th Anniversary Celebration, "Cherishing the Joys of Childhood," will help support the Center's programs that provide therapeutic and educational services to children and families struggling with mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges. With Phyllis and Dave Snyder returning as honorary chairs, this signature event will feature exclusive live auction packages, dinner by-the-bite with specialty cocktails, and inspiring performances from Center youth. This fun midday event will feature a full tea service, silent auction, opportunity drawing, and beautiful live music. Boutique shopping will also be available, and vendors will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Vision of Children Foundation, the foremost organization in the world supporting research for Ocular Albinism and related vision disorders with research projects currently underway at The Shiley Eye Institute at UC San Diego Health, The Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, and at the University of Iowa. Event proceeds will help fund critical vision research to find cures for genetic vision disorders and childhood blindness, and to provide support services for children living with blindness or visual impairment and their families. visionofchildren.org Tea & Tonic JUNE 17 | THE RADY SHELL AT JACOBS PARK Center for Community Solutions' 23rd annual Tea & Tonic will feature guest speaker Aly Raisman, team captain of the gold medal-winning U.S.A. women's gymnastics teams in 2012 and 2016, and the third most decorated American gymnast of all time. Today, Raisman is an advocate for systemic changes within the sport of gymnastics and the eradication of sexual abuse. In addition to a brief program, the event also features an auction, live music, and plenty of opportunities to mingle. A private VIP reception is included for all sponsors and VIP ticket holders. Tickets, tables, and sponsorships are available.
