There are a variety of tasting kits to explore, including VIP and deluxe options. bidpal.net/rys22 Attend benefits Art Alive APRIL 28-MAY 1 | THE SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF ART The San Diego Museum of Art's 41st annual Art Alive, an event in which floral designers transform famous works of art from the permanent collection into exquisite floral displays, returns to provide support for education, outreach programs, and special exhibitions. The celebration will feature nearly 100 floral interpretations of works of art, filling the galleries with a brilliant crescendo of color and scent. Local San Diego artist and owner of Tend Living, Britton Neubacher, has been selected as the Rotunda Designer who will transform the museum rotunda into "Organized Chaos" with a 40-foot-high installation utilizing only recycled botanical plants and florals. Art Alive kicks off with the black-tie Premiere Dinner, followed the next night with Bloom Bash, now expanding further into the Plaza de Panama to accommodate a growing guest list and featuring food and beverage delights from more than 30 local San Diego restaurants, live music, a Ferris wheel, and an exclusive light installation from sculpture and performative artist Ian Brill. 619.696.1999, artalive@sdmart.org, sdmart.org/art-alive-2022 50th Annual YMCA Roof Raisers MAY 6 | OMNI LA COSTA RESORT The Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA is celebrating the golden anniversary of its Roof Raisers Golf Tournament with food and drinks, live and silent auctions, $20,000 worth of giveaways, awards for the winning foursome and best 1970s golf attire, and more. Roof Raisers was founded in 1971 by Rollie Ayers, Paul Ecke Jr., Ed Harloff, Don Hubbard Sr., and Irv Roston to raise funds to complete the then-new YMCA. Over the past 49 years, more than $4.5 million has been raised, and many new roofs have been built over the Y, including the pool enclosure and a spectacular 22,000-square-foot expansion of the Aquatic Center.
