Padres Pedal the Cause
ousands joined Curebound for a celebration of
survivorship and cancer cures. Padres Pedal the Cause
featured cycling courses for all abilities, a 5K run/walk, spin
classes, kids' challenge, and a post ride/walk celebration.
A highlight of the day for Team Ranch & Coast Magazine
powered by Aetna was meeting six-year-old Savvy and
her father, Jonathan Schwartz, who shared with us that
this mighty warrior is defeating cancer thanks to a specific
treatment whose research was funded directly by proceeds
raised through Pedal. Every dollar raised supports critical
cancer research at six local institutional research partners:
Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health, Salk
Institute for Biological Studies, Sanford Burnham Prebys,
Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, Scripps Research,
and La Jolla Institute for Immunology.
