Heart & Soul Gala
Jewish Family Service of San Diego's annual
Heart & Soul Gala highlighted the organization's
efforts to provide resources and support to San
Diegans of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds, and
shared stories of success from throughout the year.
e event also celebrated the contributions of
JFS's 2022 Mitzvah Honorees: former JFS board
member Marcia Hazan, and Danielle and Brian
Miller of Geppetto's toy store. e Heart & Soul
Gala raised $1.4 million to support JFS's ongoing
efforts to help people in crisis move forward, while
developing innovative strategies to break cycles of
poverty and strengthen the San Diego community.

Wild in the
Country Gala
Lion Tigers & Bears, San Diego's big cat and
bear sanctuary, welcomed friends, neighbors,
and longtime supporters to its Wild in the
Country Gala. To celebrate its 20th year as
an accredited exotic animal sanctuary —
which is home to 65+ abused and abandoned
animals and has coordinated the rescue of
more than 1,000 exotic animals over the
years — the celebration, themed "Denim and
Diamonds," featured entertainment from
special guest hosts Jagger and Kristi of Magic
92.5 and a live performance featuring world
class Las Vegas showman "Neil Diamond –
e Tribute starring Rob Garrett."
