This season's Women in Music Festival focuses on the role women have had on both music composition and performance in our history. The festival also exhibits San Diego's largest collection of authentic Mata Ortiz pottery, a centuries-old art form renowned for its intricate process and hand-painted geometric and ancestral symbols. bazaardelmundo.com Monet to Matisse: Impressionist Masterpieces from the Bemberg Foundation Through August 7 The San Diego Museum of Art Art produced between the 1870s and the 1930s featuring work by Cézanne, Degas, Monet, Morisot, Picasso, Sisley, and Bonnard is on view at The San Diego Museum of Art. The 60-piece show is impressive, having been organized by SDMA and the Bemberg Foundation in collaboration with the Manifesto Expo. This is the first time this collection has traveled to California and is one of only two such exhibitions in the United States. sdmart.org Going Places: The Technology of Transportation Through August 24 Fleet Science Center This new exhibition offers an exciting adventure with more than 20 exhibits and information kiosks reminding visitors of the remarkable technology that has made reaching the furthest areas of the planet possible. Over time, new technology has been developed to overcome obstacles such as gravity and distance. Through hands-on and interactive exhibits, fly a plane, ride a hovercraft, race a friend on a bicycle, or learn to fly an airship.
