Do Knock It What if you could just tap on any surface in your home to find your phone, turn on lights, play music, turn on the TV, even text your partner when you're leaving or coming home? Knocki does just that by turning surfaces into touch interfaces. Using the companion phone app, users just connect Knocki to their home Wi-Fi, find their smart device, and set a number of knocks for each command. For instance, one knock to turn on the lights, two knocks to send an automated text, three knocks to start the coffee pot. Knocki can even combine a sequence of knocks into a multi-command — two knocks followed by two knocks to turn off lights, lock the doors, and turn off the TV all at once. While Knocki is mostly made to work with smart home devices, it can also be used with phones to do things such as play a Spotify station, turn on the flashlight, or simply find your phone. $99. knocki.com A Smoking Innovation When Nomad came up with the idea for the combination grill and smoker, they had a couple unique requirements, such as a sturdy carrying case, a cool aesthetic, a manageable weight (30 pounds), and technology that keeps the outside from getting too hot to handle. In fact, with the patented SurfaceSafe tech, the outside stays cool enough for the Nomad to be plopped down on the average picnic table without fear of burning the wood or skin burns. Once the briefcase-style grill is open, honeycomb grates allow enough space for nearly 30 burgers and plenty of veggies. Simply throw some charcoal or wood chips underneath and you're good to go. And perhaps the best part is that when you're done, you can simply seal the vents, close the case with everything inside, and go home to clean it later. Perfect for your next camping trip or tailgate party. $649. nomadgrills.com BY RYAN THOMAS Feel e Flow Competing with leading VR headset companies can be a tall order unless you've got a unique angle. This is where the Vive Flow comes in. Designed to look much more like sunglasses (albeit oversized ones) rather than clunky boxes, the Flow is marketed as a personal wellness VR set rather than a gaming module. The Flow features 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of memory, a field of view up to 100 degrees, 3.2K resolution, and a 75Hz refresh rate. When synced up to your phone, the Vive Flow's own library provides endless hours of relaxing visuals and sounds (monthly rates may apply). Gamers and cinephiles may want to try out Vive's other newest releases, the Focus 3 and the Pro 2, both of which come with motion sensitive controllers. $499 for the Vive Flow. vive.com @ranchandcoast ranchandcoast.com 80 AUGUST 2022 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE
