Monroe and Allen have dedicated more than 20 years to healing through music therapy and have served thousands of people in need with a specific focus on trauma recovery and veterans suffering with PTSD. Allen, who joined Def Leppard when he was just 15, is no stranger to PTSD himself, having lost his left arm in a horrific car accident in 1984. Recovery from sexual exploitation is also a long-term process. GenerateHope is a San Diego-based nonprofit that supports survivors of sex trafficking to help them heal and find restoration in long-term housing with trauma-informed therapy, education, and vocational support. GenerateHope founder Susan Munsey is a 2018 CNN Hero, and the organization's work is critical to ensure the long-term success of survivors after they have suffered the unimaginable, often from a very young age. NBC 7 San Diego news anchor Monica Dean will serve as emcee for the evening, which will also feature a keynote presentation by San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephan. Plus, guests will have full access to all exhibits at Birch, including the newly installed Little Blue Penguins. generatehope.givesmart.com Rick Allen and Lauren Monroe Marcos Ramírez ERRE and Dagmar Smek @ranchandcoast ranchandcoast.com 38 AUGUST 2022 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE
