The annual event, headed by committee co-chairs Jamie Carr and Sharon Tice-McDonald, invites guests to explore the region of central Italy known for its landscapes, artistic legacy, and its influence on high culture. Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction of exquisite one-of-a-kind items followed by a dinner of taste-portioned classic and innovative dishes. Committee restaurant chair Ann Dizney has secured an impressive restaurant lineup including such fine-dining favorites as Amalfi Cucina Italiana, Beeside Balcony, Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill, The Fish Market, California Pizza Kitchen, Poseidon on the Beach, Lakehouse Resort, and 067, to name a few. All profits raised support the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center. 858.756.4117, ext. 350, animalcenter.org US Police & Fire Championships JUNE 10-17 | VARIOUS VENUES The California Police Athletic Federation, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting sport and physical fitness among first responders, will bring together athletes competing in 35+ sports across 30 venues in the greater San Diego County, including bench press, dodgeball, pickleball, baseball, bowling, golf, tennis, water polo, CrossFit, and more. The annual games draw thousands of athletes including police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, customs and correctional officers, as well as full-time employees (active and retired) of any eligible agency or organization in the capacity of 9-1-1 dispatchers, detention-custodial officers, crime scene investigators, or lifeguards.
