Finding Clarity on the Road to College The college planning and application process can be one of the most challenging experiences that parents and kids can face. Changes in admissions requirements prompted by the pandemic plus an ever more competitive academic environment make navigating the process vastly different from what most parents experienced as college applicants themselves. Fortunately, help is out there. This summer, rising high school juniors and seniors can tap the expertise of independent college counselors Jennifer Maclure and Jamie Brooker at their My Pathway Conference, gaining expert guidance and insight into the complicated world of college application prep while getting a taste of life as an undergrad. Taking place from July 29-August 2, the conference includes a meals-included, four-night stay in on-campus dorms at University of San Diego, where attendees engage in a community service project to build their college résumés, hear from an inspiring keynote speaker, and work on their college essays and applications with the support of essay coaches and independent college counselors. Need-based scholarships for the conference are available. mypathwaytocollege.com/conference PHOTO COURTESY OF MY PATHWAY TO COLLEGE MEOW Chilli is a 2-year-old Domestic Short Hair who is looking to find a new home with sunny spots to lounge, toys to keep him entertained, and a best "fur-iend" who will take the time to get to know him.
