Lion of Judah Luncheon Nearly 100 philanthropic and community- driven women gathered for Jewish Federation of San Diego's Lion of Judah Luncheon at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa to celebrate their passion and commitment to the San Diego Jewish community. e Lions of Judah are an internationally recognized giving society dedicated to supporting the Jewish Federations of North America system. In San Diego, there are more than 300 proud Lions of Judah. e event featured a powerful and emotional poetry reading by local artist Jane Yevgenia Muschenetz, a Ukrainian-born, Russian- speaking, Jewish refugee who fled the Soviet regime as a child with the help of funding raised by the Lions of Judah. PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANNE BARRERA Seen Meet the Masters e Village Garden Club of La Jolla presented its signature event, Meet the Masters. is 50th anniversary celebration took place at e Lodge at Torrey Pines and featured internationally renowned floral designer Gabriela Salazar. While guests enjoyed a delicious three-course plated luncheon, Salazar shared her story and created floral arrangements that reflect her elegant and sophisticated style. e exciting conclusion to this event was auction where guests had the opportunity to bid on and take home one of Salazar's magnificent arrangements.
