Cardiff Dog Days of Summer JULY 21 | ENCINITAS COMMUNITY PARK Cardiff 101 Main Street and the City of Encinitas present the 19th Annual Cardiff Dog Days of Summer sponsored by Kahoots from 10am to 3pm. This free event features a variety of dog-related vendors, rescue groups, pet adoption agencies, an exciting agility course, a swift paws lure course, dog contests, live music, food trucks, a libation lounge, and "pawsome" opportunity drawing. The San Diego Fire Department will be putting on various rescue demonstrations throughout the day. Rescue Row, presented by Rancho Coastal Humane Society, will host several rescue groups with adoptable pups. All proceeds from Rescue Row will be donated to Rancho Coastal Humane Society, whose mission is to rescue, shelter, and find homes for companion animals while promoting humane ideals through education and community outreach. With her soft fur and expressive eyes, this charming kitty is quick to win the hearts of new friends. Lovebug enjoys cuddles, cozy naps in warm spots, and quiet moments by your side. Visit SDHS' Oceanside Campus to bring Lovebug home. Adoption fee: $75 MEOW Sparrow, a 4-month-old Domestic Short Hair cat, had a rough start to life — he broke his arm as a kitten and now he's unable to move his front left elbow. However, that doesn't stop this tour de force of a kitten! Sparrow has an incredibly cuddly demeanor, melting in the arms of all who pick him up. Adoption fee: $256 MEOWHelena is a 2½-year-old, 8-pound Domestic Short Hair cat with a Brown Tabby coat. She was taken to a local animal shelter with her two kittens, then transferred to RCHS through FOCAS. Her foster mom calls Helena "a perfect house guest who has a love for toys and cuddles." Adoption fee: $100 WOOF Max is an energetic 4-month-old Boxer blend who loves running around the yard playing fetch with his toys. In fact, nothing makes this little guy happier than running full tilt as far as he can go. He is a total sweetheart as well, showing zero hesitation in flopping in your lap. Adoption fee: $505 WOOF Buddy is a 7½-year-old, 59-pound Terrier mix. He was at a crowded shelter in the Imperial Valley before being transferred to RCHS through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS). He's a loyal companion. All he needs is a comfy bed where he can take his naps and a few squeaky toys to play with. Adoption fee: $75 (With the Seniors for Seniors program, if Buddy's adopter is 60 or older, the adoption fee is paid by a generous benefactor.)
