ranchandcoast.com 84 DECEMBER 2024 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE G I V I N G G U I D E Shelter to Soldier Shelter to Soldier is a 510c3 nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local rescues and shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post- 9/11 veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and/ or Military Sexual Trauma. The program also places emotional support animals with veterans and active duty military and deploys the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors, a team of therapy dogs, to provide visits of love and comfort to local military, veterans and their families.
