@ranchandcoast RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE APRIL 2025 75 Merrilee Neal Merrilee Neal is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is also a graduate of LEAD San Diego and has acquired certificates in public speaking and nonprofit management. A prior small business owner, Merrilee has dedicated the last decade to leadership in philanthropic organizations. A 12-year breast cancer survivor, Merrilee is the #1 fundraiser in San Diego and #2 in the nation for the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk. Merrilee has held board roles for Promises2Kids, Susan G. Komen San Diego, The New Children's Museum, and The Thursday Club. She's currently an advisory council member for Scripps Cancer Center. In 2024 she was honored as a Woman of Dedication by The Salvation Army, and this year she was selected to join the esteemed SDPF Women in Blue Executive Cabinet. A 40-year San Diego County resident, Merrilee and her husband, Mike, have two adult children. Her personal interests include travel, arts and culture, biking, yoga, and skiing. community philanthropist
