Shelter to Soldier Shelter to Soldier is a CA 501c3 nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local rescue organizations and shelters then trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and/or Military Sexual Trauma. The program also places emotional support animals with active-duty military, veterans, first responders and Gold Star Families. To serve the military community on a broader scale, Shelter to Soldier's Canine Ambassador therapy dog team provides visits of love and comfort to our nation's brave heroes through community engagement. This year, Shelter to Soldier launched their Morale Dog program, wherein they rescue dogs and train them to be four-legged crew members on US Navy ships, boosting morale for sailors and marines while deployed serving our country.
