W ith baseball now in full swing at Petco Park, a new off-field destination is stepping up to the plate. e Diamond Room, which just opened in the historic Simon Levi Building at Gallagher Square, brings a retro-chic cocktail experience to the Ballpark District. With just 50 seats, the lounge pairs a late-1970s aesthetic with a refined atmosphere that blends San Diego's love of baseball with a stylish new reason to linger downtown. On the note of lingering longer, this month's cover story highlights spring fashion designed for a San Diego staycation — looks that transition effortlessly from a casual coffee date or poolside afternoon to a sunset Padres game. e shoot, photographed on location at Omni San Diego Hotel at the Ballpark with our cover captured on its unique skybridge, showcases the only private pedestrian skybridge connecting a U.S. hotel directly to a ballpark. I can't wait to return and walk through those gates to watch our Padres win. Also in this issue, Ranch & Coast Editor-at-Large Andrea Naversen reconnects with Wendy Walker, the former longtime producer of CNN's Larry King Live, for an intimate look at her life today. Walker has shifted her focus from the fast pace of the newsroom to her passion for interior design and philanthropy, supporting causes including women's brain health and trauma recovery. Her beautifully curated home and lifestyle continue to inspire through her growing presence across digital platforms. April marks the beginning of a robust charitable event season, and our Attend section (seven pages this month!) previews the fundraisers and fêtes you'll want to mark on your calendar, including golf tournaments, fashion show luncheons, evening galas, and everything in between. I'm especially looking forward to the La Jolla Concours d'Elegance, taking place April 24 to 26, with the Sunday PHOTO BY BOB STEFANKO main event capping off a weekend full of automotive excellence. And now that my husband's weekends have opened up after recently selling his off-road race truck, I'm hoping we'll be able to once again enjoy the event as a family. If you do attend, please be sure to visit our Ranch & Coast team on site. As usual, we'll be facilitating voting for the People's Choice Award, helping to crown the ultimate standout in this year's hypercar class to honor cutting-edge performance and breathtaking design. Days later on April 29, I hope to see you at e Country Friends Spring Luncheon, themed "Palm Royale," taking place at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. It promises to be a festive celebration of fashion and philanthropy for a cause. Wherever your spring plans take you, we wish you joy and fulfillment.
