Among them is e Tarp House, an iconic residence showcasing vintage design alongside contemporary art, lovingly restored with modern amenities. ere is Cedar + Skye, a Ralph Matheson- designed cabin tucked into the redwoods, featuring soaring glass walls and a lofted sleeping space with forest-to-ocean views. Nearby, Compass Close stands as a renovated classic, featuring a signature Barbara Stauffacher Solomon supergraphic mural and expansive decks overlooking the white water. Meanwhile, the tiny Sea Ranch Chapel remains a grand centerpiece for reflection. e non-denominational prayer and meditation space was designed by San Diego artist James Hubbell, appearing to erupt from the earth with its windswept conical roof and copper sea-spray sculpture. Made of cedar, redwood, stone, and Hubbell's trademark stained glass, much of the 360-square-foot chapel was crafted in Santa Ysabel, home to the Ilan-Lael Foundation. "It contains both darkness and light, intimacy and grandeur, and a richness of materials though it's made of humble stone and wood and glass," according to the foundation.
