Studies show that when boys are raised without a male role model, they are nine times more likely to drop out of school, ten times more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, and 20 times more likely to end up in jail or prison. Enter Boys to Men, which offers a group mentoring program that sends teams of volunteers into San Diego schools on a weekly basis to mentor boys struggling and seeking support. The onsite program helps boys identify their traumas, beliefs, and issues that are in the way of them becoming the good young men they want to be. The evening fundraiser will feature a private concert with a Grammy Award-winning artist and special guests, the inaugural presentation of Boys To Men's Community Hero Award to Shaun Tomson for his nine years of sharing his stoke and raising funds for the community, captivating cuisine, libations, and a live auction. 619.469.9599, boystomen.org Upscale Tag Sale APRIL 22-23 | DEL MAR SHOPPING CENTER Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society is planning a one-of-a-kind Upscale Tag Sale in the former Pier 1 Imports location off Via de la Valle.
