Great Halloween Candy Buy Back and Card Give Back NOVEMBER 2 12835 POINTE DEL MAR WAY, SUITE 3, DEL MAR Del Mar dentist Dr. Curtis Chan is holding his 15th annual Great Halloween Candy Buy Back, helping kids unload excess Halloween candy for a great cause. The candy is donated to troops overseas and in exchange for their donations, children are given $1 per pound (up to five pounds). The outdoor event will take place from 3-6pm in the plaza at Dr. Chan's office. Children must be present and must have or make a card for the troops in order to receive their cash. Each child will leave with a free toothbrush kit and, as an exciting bonus, they will also receive a Dr. Chan Chocolate Bar with a chance to be one of five kids to win a "Golden Ticket" worth $100. If you're looking for a low-maintenance, free- spirited feline, she's the one for you. She loves receiving pets and she isn't afraid to request them. She was one of seven cats surrendered to a crowded shelter in Riverside County by their owner. Penelope was transferred to RCHS through FOCAS. This "house panther" would love an active home and a family that can give her all the playtime she asks for. Adoption fee: $100 WOOF Rascal is a 6-month-old Cur blend who comes across a bit shy at first. He still needs a minute to get used to strangers. Once you've won his trust, he'll race across the lawn chasing tennis balls and then plop down in your lap for all the pets and love you could possibly give. Adoption fee: $400 WOOF Friendly Toga Tiger is a 7-month-old, 50-pound Hound mix puppy. He was trans- ferred to RCHS from a crowded shelter in the Imperial Valley through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS). Toga Tiger is going to be a big boy, and he's been learning his manners, but his new family will need to reinforce his training when he goes home. This out-of-this-world pup deserves a lot of love and is ready to bring lots of joy and laughter to his new home.
