PHOTOGRAPHY BY BOB STEFANKO Moores Cancer Center Legends of Science and Surfing UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center expanded its Annual Legends of Surfing Invitational into a two-day event in 2025 with the first-ever Legends of Science Symposium, which featured global experts discussing cancer innovation. e following day, a beachside surf competition united surfers, scientists, survivors, and supporters. Since 1994, the event has raised over $12 million to advance cancer research and support Moores Cancer Center's mission to transform cancer prevention, detection, and care.
