T his year, I raised my hand to help plan the San Dieguito High School Class of 1996's 30-year reunion. As classmates came together this summer, we realized that while our lives had taken us in many directions, there was something profoundly meaningful about revisiting where it all began. It struck me that it's exactly this kind of connection that we strive to foster every month at Ranch & Coast Magazine. Sixty-two years ago, Ranch & Coast was founded as a society publication serving Rancho Santa Fe. Its reach has since expanded throughout La Jolla and North County's coastal communities, but the mission remains remarkably consistent: to bring people together through the stories of our community. In this September issue, we return our editorial focus to Rancho Santa Fe — a place defined by both its beauty and extraordinary generosity. For our cover feature, we preview looks from select South Coast Plaza retailers set to take the runway September 10 at the Art of Fashion benefiting e Country Friends. e much-anticipated event at e Inn at Rancho Santa Fe pairs fall fashion with a three-course luncheon and boutique shopping, all supporting charities selected by the 72-year-old nonprofit. Also in this issue, Editor-at-Large Andrea Naversen opens the doors to the Fairbanks Ranch home of Robbi Campbell and Keith Sims, where unimaginable loss has become an inspiring force for hope. After Campbell's daughter, Allison Campbell Fomon — a wife, mother of two, and San Diego County deputy district attorney — died from pancreatic cancer at just 41, the family committed to helping give others a better chance against the disease through an annual fundraiser supporting early detection and prevention. PHOTO BY BOB STEFANKO On September 27, Publisher Bob Stefanko and I are honored to once again co-chair the 12th Annual Taste of Rancho Santa Fe at e Inn in support of Rancho Santa Fe Rotary. One of my favorite local traditions, Taste brings neighbors together around exceptional food and wine while supporting Rotary's enduring commitment to "Service Above Self." Communities don't stay connected by accident. ey stay connected because people choose to gather, celebrate one another, and invest in something larger than themselves. ank you for allowing Ranch & Coast to be part of those connections for 62 years. Here's to old friends, new memories, and the remarkable community we're fortunate to call home. Letter from the Editor Mia Park, Editor-in-Chief Dress, Balmain, South Coast Plaza.
