beaches and French Normandy architecture. And in Solana Beach, Editor-at-Large Andrea Naversen brings us inside Ron and Philly Montbleau's Hamptons-style home, which recently underwent a multi-phase remodel timed to be completed just in time for last month's Baja Bash fundraiser in support of local conservation nonprofit Wildcoast. It dawned on me that all three of these pieces center on architecture influenced by other places in the world. But I can't help but think, in my own biased opinion, that no matter the inspiration, they look best here in San Diego. F or as long as I can remember, our July issue has celebrated summer, highlighting the many ways to make the most of the idyllic corner of the globe we're so fortunate to call home. e days are long, the coastline sparkles in the sun, summer concerts are back at Powerhouse Park, and Opening Day at the Del Mar oroughbred Club returns on Friday, July 18, kicking off the 86th racing season. We hope you'll join Ranch & Coast at L'Auberge Del Mar for a Mediterranean- inspired Opening Day After Party, where spritzes flow and la dolce vita comes to life with coastal bites, live music, and DJ sets under the stars. But the party doesn't stop there — Del Mar's En Fuego restaurant opened its doors 30 years ago on Opening Day, and to mark the major milestone, owner/restaurateur John Wingate is hosting an anniversary party on July 19, and everyone is invited. I came to learn that Nakhshab is also a "Cardiff kid," as I affectionately refer to those of us who grew up in the neighborhood, and that we attended area schools just a couple of years apart. It brings me great pride to showcase an architectural stunner in a town that I cherish, created by someone who also shares the same love of our community.
