Imagination Ball e Alzheimer's Association San Diego/Imperial Chapter presented its inaugural Imagination Ball at Alila Marea. e event was emceed by Bridget Naso and featured Karen Howard as the Fund a Mission speaker. Honorees included Best Buy Health, Michael Rafii, MD, PhD, and Karen Wilder, wife of the late actor Gene Wilder, who succumbed to Alzheimer's disease in 2016. Today, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and it is predicted that the number will skyrocket to 14 million by 2050. e Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Since 1997, Patrons of the Prado has contributed close to $5 million to its beneficiaries — ten arts and science institutions on the Prado in Balboa Park — and served more than 169,000 San Diego school students. Up next, on July 9, the organization presents Masterpiece 2022: Under the Desert Sun, which this year celebrates the glamour of vintage Palm Springs. Held in the iconic Spreckels Organ Pavilion, the entirely outdoor event will feature a swanky cocktail reception, silent and live auction, gourmet dinner from Behind the Scenes, and dancing to the live music of NRG — all while raising funds vital to supporting the arts.
