All proceeds will aid the renovation of Tri-City Medical Center's Emergency Department, a critical resource to residents of the North County Coastal Communities. Once funded, this project will completely reimagine the medical center's emergency room entrance, patient and family waiting area, lighting, triage area, and Station A, one of three major treatment areas in the emergency department. The foundation's goal is to enhance the overall patient experience by blending sustainable design elements with operational innovation to continue providing state-of- the-art care to our community. 760.940.3370, tricityhospitalfoundation.org U.S. Police & Fire Championships JUNE 11-19 | MULTIPLE VENUES Real life heroes face off in friendly competition at the U.S. Police & Fire Championships presented by Bio-One, featuring more than 40 different sports at multiple locations throughout San Diego County. The public is welcome to attend and support their favorite first responders who come from across the United States to clash in matchups ranging from the mainstream biggies (baseball, basketball, softball, soccer) to the more unexpected (dodgeball, disc golf, cornhole) throughout the week. Volunteers are also welcome to visit the organization's website for more information and to register. Created by the California Police Athletic Federation, the games are designed to support fitness as well as foster camaraderie between firefighters and law enforcement. cpaf.org/uspfc Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf Marathon JUNE 24 | SINGING HILLS GOLF RESORT AT SYCUAN Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County is hosting a day on the green at its 29th Annual Golf Marathon. The all-day event challenges participants to golf as many holes as they can with all funds raised benefiting San Diego children waiting to be matched with a Big Brother/Big Sister mentor. Participating golfers will enjoy all-inclusive golf from sunrise to sunset (play 18 or go for 100!), access to both the Willow Glen and Oak Glen golf courses at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan, breakfast, lunch, and dinner followed by an awards presentation, sponsored on-course refreshments, course contests, and a special hotel rate for those who wish to stay the night.
