The progressive evening will bring together foodies and a Culinary Council of celebrity chefs, food critics, and San Diego personalities. The Culinary Council will take on the tough task of decisively awarding the Chef Flor Franco Awards for Culinary Excellence based on specific criteria for each dish. The 2022 Icon Award will be presented to David and Leslie Cohn, founders of the Cohn Restaurant Group, a staple of San Diego's dining scene since 1981 as well as committed community supporters. OCTOBER 29 | HYATT REGENCY LA JOLLA AT AVENTINE The George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers, Inc. are celebrating four decades of "Sharing the Caring" and honoring co-founder, Joy A. Glenner. The organization has been providing specialized adult day programs and supportive services to families affected by Alzheimer's and related dementias since 1982. This very special evening will include a hosted cocktail hour, a delectable dinner, surprise entertainment from Hollywood, and dancing to the music of Bonnie Foster Productions. The program will close with an opportunity to express support with a paddle raise. Proceeds will enable the nonprofit, which has not raised its rates in seven years, to maintain programs that are accessible and affordable to all families. This party with a purpose is designed to shine a spotlight on SDPF's K9 Crimefighter Campaign, which funds police service dogs for America's Finest K9 Unit. For the past 19 years, every police service dog at the San Diego Police Department has been purchased with funds donated by community members through the San Diego Police Foundation. These specialized canines safeguard public events, find missing persons, locate evidence, and most of all, de-escalate very dangerous situations.
