Glenner Turns 40! e George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers, Inc. celebrated four decades of "Sharing the Caring" and honored co-founder Joy A. Glenner. e organization has been providing specialized adult day programs and supportive services to families affected by Alzheimer's and related dementias since 1982. e evening's festivities included a hosted cocktail hour, delectable dinner, surprise entertainment, and dancing to the music of Bonnie Foster Productions. Soledad Memorial Tribute e Trustees of the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association hosted a reception and ceremony to honor Papa Doug Manchester at the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial. e reception was attended by the family and friends of Papa Doug and Lisa Manchester and featured a light breakfast followed by a tribute thanking Papa Doug Manchester for his generous support of the memorial. In May 2022, a black granite sitting bench was installed at the top of the memorial to recognize a $1 million donation from Papa Doug Manchester. e black granite is the same type that is used on the 14 honor walls surrounding the memorial. Since 2015, Papa Doug Manchester has generously provided the resources to help sustain the memorial and fund programs managed by the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association.
