Mainly Mozart Gala Mainly Mozart dazzled supporters with a performance by a talented quartet curated by Nate Farrington, principal bass of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, who was joined by Nathan Olson, violin, co- concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony; Teddy Abrams, piano, music director of the Louisville Orchestra; and Erica Petrocelli, vocals, soprano with the Zurich and Los Angeles Opera orchestras. e gala raised critical funding for Mainly Mozart's world renowned All-Star Orchestra, its 300-member Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, and extensive community outreach. Darlene Marcos Shiley was recognized as San Diego's Champion for the Arts. is award is presented to individuals who have given an extraordinary measure of their time, talents, and dedication to benefit visual and performing arts in the San Diego region. PHOTOGRAPHY BY SONNY PORTACIO Joshua King and Aren Carma Katherine and Tom Foster Uplifting Voices Event committee members Andrea Moser, Kristi Pfister, Lauree Sahba, and Michelle Weinger presented an afternoon of inspiring stories from Voices for Children's Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program to lift up the voices of our community's most vulnerable children in foster care. e program on the rooftop deck at Del Mar Plaza featured a dynamic conversation with special guests Elizabeth and Stephen Wampler. e nationally and internationally acclaimed film Wampler's Ascent documents Stephen's accomplishment as the first person with cerebral palsy to climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. e Wamplers now lead the Stephen J. Wampler Foundation, inspiring children with disabilities to achieve their dreams and lead fulfilling lives.
