"We let the landscape tell the story," says Vedder of this new home in Point Loma by Earth Tek Construction. In this case, the story was driven by the unique topography — a hilly exterior and a deep canyon created by a 25-foot timber retaining wall. It reminded Vedder of Zion National Park, with its natural wonder and slot-canyon feel. While the hillside perimeter is dotted with low-water native plants, the lush verdant interior descends into a full tropical vibe with a fire feature deep in the center. "We let the plants arch and canopy overhead inching toward the light," he marvels. Away from the hustle and bustle of Point Loma, this backyard truly offers a wow-worthy retreat.
