Attend benefits Sharp HospiceCare Benefit Regatta AUGUST 23-24 | MARRIOTT MARQUIS SAN DIEGO HOTEL & MARINA AND CORONADO YACHT CLUB The annual Sharp HospiceCare Benefit Dinner and Regatta celebrates its 21st event this month, kicking off Friday evening with a pre-race dinner and silent auction followed by all-day festivities on Saturday, when guests will board yachts and cruise along the racecourse for a breathtaking view of the regatta and San Diego Bay. The 2024 Regatta beneficiary is Sharp HospiceCare's Homes for Hospice campaign, which raises money to build and maintain residential hospice homes in San Diego County. The homes offer a unique environment for patients with a life-limiting illness, meeting their needs in a comfortable home setting. To celebrate and support San Diego's local fisheries, Puffer Malarkey Collective and San Diego Fishermen's Working Group will host a one-night culinary event that showcases dishes prepared by San Diego's top chefs, featuring all locally caught and sourced seafood. Attendees of the Dockside Night Market, "Local Fish, Global Flavors," will indulge in a variety of dishes by the city's finest chefs, including: Tara Monsod, Aidan Owens, Brad Wise, Roberto Alcocer, Davin Waite, Shihomi Borillo, and many others. The event will also feature a cash bar and musical entertainment. One-hundred percent of ticket profits will be donated to The San Diego Fishermen's Working Group to protect the commercial fishing interests and opportunities in San Diego by providing seafood choices that affirm regional cultural traditions, support local communities, and contribute to the health and productivity of natural marine resources. The Gala at MCASD, renowned for its exquisite décor, upscale cuisine, and specialty libations, offers an unforgettable evening for guests. Attendees will enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by a specially curated al fresco dinner. The event will feature live entertainment and dancing, celebrating MCASD's unique coastal location, vibrant community, and commitment to supporting contemporary artists.
