Jendrusina's advice for those considering a remodel: 1. Plan early. Get your entire team in place at the start of the project to align budgets, timeline, and design goals. 2. Have a realistic budget based on your desired outcome, but also save room for the unexpected, whether something unforeseen comes up during construction or you decide to add a must-have item. 3. Be flexible, allowing for last-minute "on-the-job edits" that weren't in the original plan that can "end up being the coolest features."
