Transformed by a multimillion-dollar investment from New Edge Living, a Lyon Living Company helmed by Newport Beach-based CEO Frank Suryan, CDA National Reserve is situated along the western shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene and modernizes the club experience. Members enjoy access to an exclusive Tom Weiskopf-designed championship golf course, a floating waterpark, private jet hangar, and a wide range of seasonal activities, from sport clay shooting to yoga and horseback riding. On a recent visit, my husband, daughter, and I took full advantage of the long summer days by spending maximum time in the pristine Idaho wilderness, taking in the forested landscapes, rolling fairways, and expansive lake views. We enjoyed a welcome dinner at e Clubhouse with CDA National Reserve COO John Cochrane and his wife, Gayle, Director of Communications & Member Services. In a fun small-world twist, I didn't realize until scheduling the visit that the Cochranes are undoubtedly remembered by many Ranch & Coast readers from their years spent managing Del Mar Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe until about a decade ago. Spanning over 20,000 square feet, e Clubhouse is the social heart of CDA National Reserve. Elevated menu items by Executive Chef Hana Marquard reflect both hearty and refreshing dishes made with locally, ethically sourced ingredients and seed-oil free practices. Members can also enjoy a curated wine program, expansive cigar lounge and wine cellar, golf shop, and private event spaces. With patios and a practice green just outside, it's the perfect place to relax, connect, and celebrate. We tested our skills with archery and axe throwing (and my husband at shooting a revolver) at e Reserve, a basecamp offering outdoor adventure and exclusive access to a premier hunt club and outdoor programs amid towering pines, including a new nine-hole archery course. We then went out for a session of tubing and wake surfing on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Members of e Lakehouse enjoy a private marina with 13 boat slips, a custom StanCraft boat, dedicated boat concierge, fire pits, gourmet dining with panoramic views, and e Deck, an elevated lounge. While my husband recharged with a frosty beverage and enjoyed the views, our daughter and I paddleboarded around to maximize our lake time.
