Now in its 36th year, this 21+ event is a prestigious juried festival, showcasing stunning works of painting, sculpture, photography, glass, jewelry, ceramics, wood, fiber, and mixed media from more than 150 world renowned artists. Guests will also enjoy world-class live music and entertainment both days, a selection of outdoor lawn games, and a variety of cuisine options for every palate, from gourmet wood-fired pizza to BBQ and more. The San Diego Festival of the Arts Foundation, Inc., through this primary fundraiser, has raised more than $2.7 million for this cause since 1987. sdfestivalarts.org What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank September 11-October 23 The Old Globe Pulitzer Prize finalist Nathan Englander and director Barry Edelstein wowed Globe audiences with The Twenty- Seventh Man, and now they team up again for this world premiere of a modern-day comedy of friendship. What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank is Englander's adaptation of his award-winning short story about two women, inseparable in high school, whose adult lives have taken them to opposite ends of the earth, and to wildly different experiences of culture, religion, and family. When they reunite, their bond is tested by the distance that has grown between them, and also by their husbands, who don't exactly see eye to eye. theoldglobe.org San Diego Coastal Art Studios Tour September 17 La Jolla & Pacific Beach San Diego Coastal Art Studios presents its 2nd Annual Art & Garden Tour from 10am-5pm. The tour features 30 artists and five gardens located in La Jolla and Pacific Beach. This year's event includes 12 new artists and one new garden.
