We have much news to share this month because the beloved Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, designed by Lilian J. Rice, one of the first women in California to be licensed as an architect, has been sold for the second time in little more than a year. Previous owner Steve Hermann, a hotelier and interior designer, bought the property in May 2022 and began extensive renovations, which are still ongoing. He sold the property in July to a Chicago-based real estate investment group. e Rancho Santa Fe community has long awaited news of this treasured property, which has been closed to the general public for more than a year. After speaking with members of e Inn's new executive team, we at Ranch & Coast are excited about the resort's future and its renewed commitment to community. e new owners have tapped Vikram Sood, a seasoned hotel professional with many luxury properties on his résumé, as managing partner. Heading up the new restaurant and bar is Clique Hospitality, whose founder Andy Masi has a proven track record when it comes to creating and operating high-end venues. I share these details and more on the welcome changes in the works in "Redux in the Ranch." e Inn reopens on November 1. For a sneak preview, join us at the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club's annual Taste of Rancho Santa Fe on October 8, co-chaired by R&C Publisher Bob Stefanko and Jerah Payne of e Heritage Escrow Company. e event takes place al fresco, but ticket holders will be the first to step inside. Ranch & Coast is a presenting sponsor of the event. For tickets, visit tasteofrsf.org. In our cover shoot, photographed on location at a fabulous property in e Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, we showcase the latest styles from a selection of South Coast Plaza's Bronze statue of Lilian Rice in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe ranchandcoast.com 36 SEPTEMBER 2023 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE
