Attend benefits River Valley Fest OCTOBER 15 | MORGAN RUN CLUB & RESORT Funds raised at the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy's 14th Annual River Valley Fest will allow the Conservancy to continue its role in making connections within the San Dieguito River Valley and watershed. Titled "Wings of Migration," this year's River Valley Fest invites guests to discover the beauty of migration and celebrate raising $2 million for SDRVC's campaign to complete all 71 miles of the Coast to Crest Trail. The program includes hosted wine and beer, music by guitarist Bill Fleming, and live auction items including a Salk Institute Lab Tour. SDRVC preserves, protects, and shares the natural and cultural resources of the San Dieguito River Valley through collaborative efforts to acquire lands, complete trails, restore habitats, establish educational programs, create interpretive centers, encourage recreation, and mobilize public support. sdrvc.org Women's Empowerment International Fall Fundraiser OCTOBER 15 | THE ALEXANDRIA Join Women's Empowerment International for an afternoon celebrating women's strength and resilience at the Empowered WE Rise fall fundraiser. Partnering with high-impact nonprofit organizations, WE funds microloans, training, education, and other holistic poverty alleviation strategies benefitting women locally and internationally. Maya Madsen, founder and CEO of Maya's Cookies, will take the stage as the keynote speaker, discussing the barriers women face in business, in society, and as BIPOC individuals, and the importance of access to opportunities in her speech, "Putting on your Big Girl Pants in an Adverse Society: A Journey of Empowerment." Guests will enjoy singing along to The Beach Boys' greatest hits, indulging in refreshing beverages, savoring a delightful three-course meal, participating in silent and live auctions, and engaging in exciting opportunity drawings.
