They had been missing since WWII. Family members at the memorials met for the first time. Current service members, elected officials, and veterans from the community came to pay their respects. Over 81,500 American service members are missing in action (MIA) since WWII. Millions of MIA Gold Star families across our nation still live with that loss. Hundreds of MIA service members are currently in the process of being recovered and returned to their families thanks to the work of Project Recover. For 30 years, the organization has worked to bring home those who gave their lives in service to our country. Project Recover has the information to conduct hundreds of search and recovery missions and can do so with your support.
