From comic to poignant to tragic, the roughly 90-minute performances look at a subject from various points of view, and as So Say We All works closely not only with the Veterans' Writing Group of San Diego County, but also with e Braille Institute, the Southern California American Indian Resource Center, Father Joe's Villages, and many other organizations, there is always a range of voices and perspectives. e group's open mic show, Long Story Short, takes place at orn Brewing in North Park, during which anyone can get on stage and tell a five-minute story without notes. "It runs the gamut at both shows," says Hudnall. "We have people who want to be professional writers and comedians. But, we also have people with just one burning story they're dying to tell, and then we never hear from them again." No one needs prior writing or performing experience. Anyone whose story is accepted receives the equivalent of a literary/ performance bootcamp with personal mentors and editors.
