SOLEDAD NATIONAL VETERANS MEMORIAL Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial honors America's military heroes with its annual Veterans Day Commemoration, held during the nation's 250th anniversary year. Beginning at 11am, the ceremony will feature a keynote address by former NFL linebacker and philanthropist Donnie Edwards, patriotic performances by Marine Band San Diego and vocalist Lily Brodie, an aerial flyover, and the unveiling of two commemorative black granite plaques. Following the ceremony, The Guardians' Gathering will bring veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and the community together for an afternoon of live music by The Full Strength Band, food, and fellowship overlooking the Pacific. Admission is free and open to the public. soledadmemorial.org San Diego Oasis Black & Gold Gala NOVEMBER 7 | SAN DIEGO OASIS, RANCHO BERNARDO San Diego Oasis brings the glamour of Hollywood's golden era to its annual Black & Gold Gala, themed "Golden Age of Hollywood." The evening will feature live and silent auctions in support of the organization's mission to foster connection, healthy aging, and intergenerational learning. Proceeds will benefit the Intergenerational Tutoring Program, which pairs older adult volunteers with elementary students for literacy support and mentorship, and Oasis Access, which provides free classes, transportation, and opportunities for older adults to remain active and engaged. With a fundraising goal of $225,000, the celebration begins at 6pm.
