The festival showcases the creativity of 175+ artists from various states and Mexico, featuring a wide range of artistic mediums such as paintings, photography, glass and ceramic art, jewelry, and sculpture. This year, more than 335 organizations have signed on for the fundraising campaign. Last year, the campaign raised $1,088,647 for 327 participating nonprofits. San Diego Gives University launched in 2022 and served 553 unique nonprofit professionals through 28 workshops. Plus, 62 organizations were paired with mentors for ongoing support. San Diegans can begin giving as early as August 17, and charities can be filtered by categories including animals, education, environment, military, humanitarian aid, and more. There is also an interactive map to give by neighborhood or region. Following San Diego Gives' Day of Giving, the Day of Service will offer meaningful and fun volunteer opportunities throughout the county to support participating nonprofits, each of which has been thoroughly vetted to ensure they respond to the needs of the community with a local-first approach, make a tangible impact, represent a variety of populations and causes, commit to keeping all funds raised in the greater San Diego area, and have a proven track record of fiscal responsibility. The deadline to sign up for volunteer service is Friday, August 25. sandiegogives.org Strut for Sobriety SEPTEMBER 9 | SHERATON SAN DIEGO HOTEL & MARINA This unique fashion and entertainment extravaganza, co-chaired by Judy Lawton and Ranch & Coast Magazine's Liz Crocker, will feature a boutique, luncheon, awards ceremony, and fashion show.
