It's not just the warmer temperatures and longer days, but the feeling that the season brings. Everything seems lighter and brighter, whether the spring in our steps on a sunny morning or the breezier clothes in our closets. Our biannual fashion issue celebrates spring style with colorful patterns and prints from Del Mar's Finnia Fine Clothing and Rancho Valencia's Sheridan Boutique, photographed on location at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla. We could not have found better backdrops for the photoshoot — the beautiful coastline coupled with fine art. In "Styling on Cedros," I visit a half-dozen boutiques, each with its own distinctive look in the Cedros Design District. ey include Tucci, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Cedros Soles, Pink Lagoon, Satori Collective, Suzan's + Parravi Jewelry, and "newbie" Ardsley Road. StyleNotes offers a roundup on new stores cropping up in Carlsbad, Fashion Valley, and South Coast Plaza, and in "Handbags from Heaven," I share the generous contribution of dozens of designer handbags from late philanthropists to Bags & Baubles, the April 28 fundraiser to benefit FACE, the Foundation for Animal Care and Education. Also in this issue, Managing Editor Deanna Murphy profiles Rally Republic, a pickleball paddle company with a unique twist, founded by an Encinitas couple. Food & Beverage Editor Brandon Hernández enjoys the view at Omni La Costa Resort's Vue — as well as the menu. Travel Editor Elizabeth Hansen explores Oregon's scenic Columbia River and gorge, stopping off at Hood River, the "Windsurfing Capital of the World." And Bill Abrams reports on the challenges faced by Navy SEALs and their families. e SEAL Family Foundation hosts its inaugural ranchandcoast.com 28 APRIL 2024 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE
