↑ New to San Diego is A Line, a full service, high-touch women's boutique that just opened at The Beacon La Costa. The Denver-based business offers personal styling and complimentary services for customers: free alterations, travel packing tips, and even champagne while you shop. Brands include L'Agence, AGOLDE, Anine Bing, A.L.C., Alice + Olivia, Citizens of Humanity, Cinq à Sept, Ba&sh, Veronica Beard, Paige, and Proenza Schouler. What's in store for spring? Stripes (especially pinstripes), mixed media dresses, eyelet fabrics, cuffed jeans, long shorts and suit shorts. Trending colors are light blue and lime green, and hot pink is still having a moment (no doubt due to Barbie!). The company also offers clients "A Line Experiences" — whether trips to Paris Fashion Week or outdoor adventures from hiking in Colorado (like last year's Crested Butte to Aspen trek) to an African safari on horseback. (Sign us up!) A Line podcasts highlight designers, clients, and members of the company's team. aline-online.com ← Fashion Valley welcomes a new crop of stores this spring including Mango, the Spanish brand founded by two brothers in Barcelona with a goal to create fashion with a unique and aspirational style and quality for the feminine, contemporary woman. A major trend this season is minimalism, whether all black or all white looks, in straight fits, tight patterns, and plain fabrics, especially linen. For a cool vibe, layer striped shirts with polos, T-shirts, overshirts, or jackets in neutral colors. Layering not only notches up style but is a good idea as we transition between seasons. According to the brand: "A total look is always a style statement" for both work and leisure. shop.mango.com/us Spring is all about flowers, according to Gorjana, the jewelry brand co-founded by Gorjana Reidel, which will soon open a new location in Fashion Valley. The brand just released its "Camila Collection," abloom with floral statement earrings, necklaces, and rings. Pearls are also in season, including the "Pearl Newport Necklace," freshwater pearls on a dainty, 14k gold chain. No matter what the season, gold hoops and chain necklace are meant to mix and match. "Jewelry is so great for self-expression and seasonal styling," says Reidel. "We love seeing our customers explore the bounds of their own style — whether it be mixing metals and pops of color or adding in playful statement pieces that personalize their layers." gorjana.com → Ahoy Mateys! At Bloomingdale's in Fashion Valley, the "New Nautical Trend" is taking hold, featuring sailor- inspired styles, skin- baring silhouettes, and softly structured tailoring. Key to the look: Bermuda shorts, striped pants and denim, cardigans, linen and linen sets, overalls, and trouser jeans. Another trend, "Vacation State of Mind," is a minimalist take on vacation dressing including linen, graphic black-and-white prints, unconventional pairings such as suiting with crochet pants, and earthy colors.
