No strangers to friendly competition, this time the chefs are cooking for good, giving 100 percent of ticket proceeds from the event to CJ's Smile and the Ronald McDonald House (CJ's Smile was founded by Chef Anthony's sister after the loss of her son to childhood cancer). Hosted alongside Brian Malarkey, the chefs will offer guests welcome cocktails and small bites followed by a four-course dinner with wine pairings and a show. Diners will enjoy front-row seats to the action and will serve as the judging panel. The mission of The Country Friends is to support human care agencies with emphasis on those providing services to women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in San Diego County. This year's Holiday Tea is co-chaired by Maggie Bobileff and Denise Hug. thecountryfriends.org Black Tie & Boots Charity Gala DECEMBER 2 | LOMAS SANTA FE COUNTRY CLUB For more than 15 years, Cornerstone Equine Therapy Center has provided life-saving programs to 4,000 active-duty service members, veterans, and first responders battling service-related PTSD and catastrophic physical trauma in San Diego. The nonprofit's annual Black Tie & Boots Charity Gala presented by Donegan Burns Foundation is Cornerstone's flagship event where supporters come together for an evening of hope and healing to raise funds and honor our nation's heroes. In the Gary E. Biszantz Family Gymnasium, guests will ring in the holiday season and enjoy a gourmet dinner catered by Behind the Scenes, impactful testimonials, giving opportunities, and dancing to the tunes of The Mighty Untouchables. Proceeds will benefit the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA's scholarship and community partnership programs.
