Assistant Chief Sandra Albrektsen, the highest-ranking female officer at the San Diego Police Department, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the Women in Blue initiative and 40 years of service. Proceeds from the luncheon propel the mission of the Police Foundation, which includes support for SDPD's peer mentoring program, efforts to recruit more females, as well as scholarships for rising female officers. Community members are invited to the luncheon in February at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Register at womeninblue.org.
