Title DATE copyhere Westfield UTC is buzzing with activity as high-end retailers and restaurants open their doors. Hermès, the famed French fashion house, held a grand opening cocktail reception at its sophisticated new store filled with the brand's signature silk scarves, leather goods including coveted handbags (there's a to-die-for-Birkin on display), and an equestrian collection. Diane Mahady, President and CEO of Hermès Americas, welcomed the well-heeled crowd. "We have been waiting almost eight years for this beautiful space. We're thrilled to have you join us," she said. The festivities continued nearby with an equestrian-themed rooftop reception featuring music, cocktails, and appetizers, showcasing one of Westfield UTC's distinctive event venues. "It's all part of the luxury evolution of Westfield UTC, bringing in stores to elevate the shopping experience," says Marketing Manager Briana Flores. They include Carolina Herrera, which debuted its first West Coast boutique in May, offering ready-to-wear, evening wear, handbags and accessories, beauty products, and fragrance. At its opening, Creative Director Wes Gordon unveiled a custom surfboard bearing the Herrera name, crafted by La Jolla artist and shaper Tim Bessell, as a tribute to La Jolla's coastal setting and surf culture. "Opening in Southern California felt like a natural step for the House," Gordon said. "There's an optimism and ease to the way women dress here that aligns beautifully with Herrera. The clothes are designed to move with a woman's life and to celebrate confidence and joy."
