Attend benefits Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center Patron Party JUNE 1 | HUMPHREYS CONCERTS BY THE BAY The theme of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center's Patron Party is "The Afterparty, Times Change, Galas Can Too." This year, the event will bring guests back to the golden age of pop, and the original intention of the Patron Party — celebrating the JCC's incredible community of philanthropists. There will be live entertainment by The Boy Band Project, transporting guests to a time when the boy band phenomenon dominated pop culture. There will also be a hosted bar, signature cocktails, tray passed hors d'oeuvres, appetizer stations, and a delicious dessert bar. Summer Serenade, presented by Hidden Valley Orthodontics, will feature live music, an improv circle with Patio Playhouse, a community art project with Brilliant Spectrum Art, an art activity with Escondido Art Association, and performances by Hullabaloo and Kathryn the Grape for plenty of family-friendly singing and dancing. Its vision is to be the leaders in inventive early childhood education. The museum's hands-on educational exhibits and programs focus on science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math (STREAM) for children up to age ten. sdcdm.org/summerserenade e Rotary Club of La Jolla presents Alison Brown JUNE 12 | THE CONRAD Grammy-winner and Banjo Hall of Famer Alison Brown will bring her unique blend of bluegrass and jazz to The Conrad to benefit the local and international service projects of The Rotary Club of La Jolla. Brown is a graduate of La Jolla High School and began playing the banjo as a teenager on the Southern California bluegrass scene. She is the recipient of the USA Artists Fellowship in Music and the Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association. She is a frequent collaborator with actor/comedian/banjoist Steve Martin, with whom she recently won an Emmy for Best Musical Composition for their collaboration "Foggy Morning Breaking" from Brown's 2023 release On Banjo.
