Together with Barrel & Board, which crafts sharable boards and hand-crafted cocktails, Promises2Kids curated a selection of whiskey, bourbon, and scotch from local artisans and renowned distilleries for guests to savor in an environment of refined taste and sophistication. Proceeds supportedPromises2Kids' mission of creating brighter futures for San Diego's current and former foster children. Barnhart, board chairman of Barnhart-Reese Construction, has been named the 2024 Nice Guy of the Year. e nonprofit will honor him at its 44th Annual Nice Guy of the Year Gala on October 12. Each year, the Nice Guys recognizes a local community leader who has given their time, money, and support to help San Diegans improve their lives. Founded in 1979, the Nice Guys' total charitable distributions now exceeds $21 million, with 100 percent of every dollar raised going to those in need.
