Since its inception in 2009, the foundation, established in memory of Mitchell Thorp, who bravely battled an intractable undiagnosed disease, has been a beacon of hope for families whose children are battling life-threatening illnesses, diseases, and disorders, by providing financial assistance, emotional support, and vital resources. "Over the past 15 years we are happy to say that the foundation has given back over five million dollars to children and families in medical crisis. A noted scholar, speaker, and Biography Channel expert, Chrisman-Campbell will sign copies of her book after the talk. The event begins at 11am with a reception and silent auction of Madame Alexander dolls depicting First Ladies, followed by the noon luncheon and presentation.
