HARVEST MOON: PHOTO BY JOHN DURANT Attend benefits Teal Woman Celebration SEPTEMBER 8 | ALILA MAREA BEACH RESORT ENCINITAS In recognition of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September, Clearity, a San Diego-based national ovarian cancer nonprofit organization, hosts its annual Teal Woman Celebration. This year marks Clearity's 16th year supporting ovarian cancer patients and their families. The evening will bring together supporters to celebrate the progress made and help reach the ambitious goal to revolutionize the ovarian cancer experience, one person at a time, all while honoring those facing an ovarian cancer diagnosis. The Teal Woman Celebration will feature live music, a cocktail hour on the balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a silent auction, and inspired cuisine. This year's event will honor Robin Toft, well known in San Diego for her philanthropy and deep connections in the community. Toft has been a Clearity board member, donor, and vocal advocate for the personalized services Clearity offers to people diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their families. clearity.org/tealwoman2024 Globe & Anchor Salute Gala SEPTEMBER 14 | MCRD COMMAND MUSEUM This year's Marine Corps Recruit Depot Museum Foundation's Globe & Anchor Salute Gala will be the first to be held at the MCRD Command Museum, providing a unique and memorable experience for all attendees. Guests will enjoy a Night at the Museum-themed evening that commences with a cocktail hour, where guests can mingle and bid on an array of unique items and experiences in a silent auction. Following the Marine Band San Diego and Color Guard presentation, attendees will enjoy dinner and a program. Funds raised will directly support the MCRD Command Museum and its various educational and outreach programs. The highlight of the event, the inaugural Visiting Artist Program, will showcase the works of eight artists inspired by the Ilan-Lael grounds and who embody James Hubbell's values of nature appreciation, sincerity, and art's impact on our world. Throughout the evening, guests can participate in a silent auction featuring works of the Visiting Artist Fellows, with proceeds benefiting the James Hubbell Memorial Art Fund.
